For the effective areas calculations - Assuming 9 foot ceilings and 2 to 6 minutes per air exchange. The same formula is used for ALL of the whole house fans for consistency. The manufacturers may use different formulas.

Sones are a relative noise level. 6 sones is an economy bathroom fan. 1 sone is a quiet refrigerator.
si nfa = square inches of net free area. The actual amount of area for air to go through the vent.
For ventilation exhaust area, 144 si equals one square foot.
Ventilation is not included in installation. More ventilation is usually needed.
Installation prices are for typical jobs.

AirScape fan prices include 2 speed wall switches.
Quietcool fan prices include switches.
AirVent 24" fan includes a 2 speed pull chain switch.
AirVent 30" fans include 2 speed wall switches.
AirVent 30" belt drive fans require cutting a joist unless a no-cut-joist shutter is bought as an accessory.
